> Birchwood Lettings' card fails on its $29 renewal, Stripe raises the Events, and a new Workflow asks the Customer to pay.

On 2026-10-13, Birchwood Lettings' card failed on its $29 `pro` renewal. Two days later, Granite Peak Housing's failed on its $99 `portfolio` renewal.

## What happened
Stripe leads every money record, so the failure started there. `Invoice.overdue` fired the next morning at 08:00, and `Subscription.pastDue` five minutes later.

## What changed in the definition
Nothing. The past-due follow-up [Workflow](/business/nouns/workflow) was in place, and it woke on `Invoice.overdue`. It emailed the pay link, and after 7 unpaid days it opened a [Task](/business/nouns/task) for the founder.

## What it called
- [`Invoice.bill`](/business/nouns/invoice/bill) for `LEAS-0018` and `LEAS-0021`, then the failed collections.
- `Message.create` to each billing email, from the new Workflow.
