# place

URL: /business/nouns/order/place · Id: `verb:Order.place` · Call: `await $.Order.place({ … })` (SDK) or the `do` tool at `https://api.sb/mcp`. Inputs says what to pass, Outputs what returns, When it waits who approves.

## Effects
- Emits [`Order.placed`](/business/events/Order.placed).
- Performed by the [Founder](/agents/founding/founder).
- Two-way: it runs at once, in the `try`, `send` and `do` modes.
- Makes the party a Customer when it is not one yet.
- Says before charging whether the Startup can deliver.
- Computes tax through Stripe Tax on the Startup’s own account, as seller of record, and records it on the Order before payment.
