# request

## Effects
- Emits [`Quote.requested`](/business/events/Quote.requested).
- Refuses an Offer that is not open to the requesting party, such as one behind a Waitlist.
- Records `by` and `for` when a buyer’s agent asks for its principal under a Mandate.
- Starts Send a quote, which supersedes any open Quote on the Deal.
