# Metric commands: update, delete

### Metric.update
Changes the given properties of a Metric. [Verb page](/business/nouns/metric/update?interface=cli).

```

Emits `Metric.updated`.

**Inputs**

| `id` | `string` | Yes | The id of the Metric. |
| `query` | `text` | No | How it is computed. An agent never varies the Metrics it is judged by. Never randomized. |
| `unit` | `string` | No | The unit, such as dollars or percent. |

### Metric.delete
Deletes a Metric: a soft delete that keeps its history, undone by `Thing.restore`. [Verb page](/business/nouns/metric/delete?interface=cli).
