# Verb commands: update, delete

### Verb.update
Changes the given properties of a Verb. [Verb page](/business/nouns/verb/update?interface=cli).

```

Emits `Verb.updated`.

**Inputs**

| `id` | `string` | Yes | The id of the Verb. |
| `name` | `string` | No | The camelCase action form. |
| `event` | `string` | No | The event the Verb emits. |
| `publishedIn` | [Version](/business/nouns/version) | No | The first published Version that serves it; from then on, edits go through a Change and `delete` refuses. |

### Verb.delete
Deletes a Verb: a soft delete that keeps its history, undone by `Thing.restore`. [Verb page](/business/nouns/verb/delete?interface=cli).
