# Verb commands: retire

### Verb.retire
Retire removes a published Verb from new Versions; callers pinned to earlier Versions keep calling it. [Verb page](/business/nouns/verb/retire?interface=cli).

Emits [`Verb.retired`](/business/events/Verb.retired).

**Inputs**
