# Renewal methods: open

### Renewal.open
Open starts the Renewal for a term Subscription before its term ends, with a usage review and any notice the legal floor requires. [Verb page](/business/nouns/renewal/open?interface=sdk).

Emits [`Renewal.opened`](/business/events/Renewal.opened).
