# With your agent

URL: /start/with-your-agent · Id: `page:start/with-your-agent`

> Connect your agent, say one sentence, and get a whole business in test, then change it by asking in plain words.

Tell your agent what the business is, in one sentence. It builds the whole [Startup](/business/nouns/startup) in test, and you change it by asking.

## Connect your agent
On [startups.new](/start/startups-new), the agent is already connected. To bring your own, add the [StartupBuilder](/code/builders/startup) MCP server and give it [llms.txt](/llms.txt), the index of these docs.

```bash
claude mcp add --transport http startup-builder https://api.sb/mcp
```

Any MCP client that speaks streamable HTTP connects to `https://api.sb/mcp`. The first call opens a sign-in in your browser.

Your agent learns what it can build from these docs: the docs MCP server at `https://startupbuilder.dev/mcp`, [/llms.txt](/llms.txt), [/asks.json](/asks.json) and every page as Markdown. [Docs for agents](/start/docs-for-agents) explains each one.

## Say one sentence
Name the customer, the problem and the price. The agent turns the sentence into one call.

**Ask**

```text
A business that tracks lease renewals for small property managers, $29 a month.
Start Leaseline: renewal reminders for landlords with under 200 units.
I want to sell lease renewal tracking to property managers for $29 a month.
```

**API**

```bash
curl -X POST https://api.sb/leaseline.app/startups \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $STARTUP_BUILDER_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"name":"Leaseline","domain":"leaseline.app","template":"solo-saas","idea":"Tracks lease renewals for small property managers, $29 a month."}'
```

**SDK**

```ts
import { $ } from 'startup-builder'
const startup = await $.Startup.create({
  name: 'Leaseline',
  domain: 'leaseline.app',
  template: 'solo-saas',
  idea: 'Tracks lease renewals for small property managers, $29 a month.',
})
```

**CLI**

```bash
npx startup-builder do Startup.create --json '{"name":"Leaseline","domain":"leaseline.app","template":"solo-saas","idea":"Tracks lease renewals for small property managers, $29 a month."}'
```

**MCP**

```json
{
  "name": "do",
  "arguments": {
    "code": "return await $.Startup.create({ name: 'Leaseline', domain: 'leaseline.app', template: 'solo-saas', idea: 'Tracks lease renewals for small property managers, $29 a month.' })"
  }
}
```

What you get, in test, before anyone pays:

- 1 business in test, at its first state (Startup)
- 1 idea, your sentence, kept as written (Idea)
- 1 name, logo, palette and voice (Brand)
- 1 site with home, pricing, terms and privacy (Site)
- 1 free address the site runs at today (Domain)
- 1 $29 monthly offer, a draft until you publish it (Offer)
- 1 founder seat, held by you (Role)
- 1 claim link: connect Stripe and own the business (Stripe's connected Account)

## The first ten minutes
| Minute | You say | You get |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 0:00 | Open startups.new, or connect your agent | An agent that reads every page here |
| 1:00 | "A business that tracks lease renewals, $29 a month" | The business above, with a preview of its [Site](/business/nouns/site) |
| 3:00 | "Show me the business" | [What you get](/business), counted |
| 5:00 | ["Charge $29 a month"](/systems/finance/charge-monthly) | A $29 monthly [Offer](/business/nouns/offer), with checkout, a billing portal, sales tax and retries for failed payments |
| 8:00 | ["Connect my domain"](/products/site/domains/connect-my-domain) | DNS records, a certificate, and the Site at your name |
| 10:00 | "What next?" | Five next asks from the [guides](/start/guides) |

## What needs you
Money and law need a person. The agent builds alone in test, then sends you one claim link.

On that page you sign in, finish Stripe's onboarding with your identity and the bank account payouts go to, and accept the owner terms. It takes one sitting. Stripe verifies most owners within minutes, and the first payout lands 7 to 14 days after the first payment.

Your identity documents go to Stripe, never to StartupBuilder. The business keeps only the account's status, and each new Stripe requirement arrives as a [Task](/business/nouns/task) with its deadline. [Merchant account](/systems/finance/merchant-account) has the full terms.

After the claim, the agent works inside its [Limits](/business/nouns/limit). Anything over a Limit waits for your [Approval](/business/nouns/approval).

## What your agent called
Every ask above is a [Verb](/business/nouns/verb) call, the same one a developer makes from code.

| You said | Your agent called |
| --- | --- |
| "A business that tracks lease renewals, $29 a month" | [`Startup.create`](/business/nouns/startup/create), [`Startup.build`](/business/nouns/startup/build) |
| "Charge $29 a month" | [`Offer.create`](/business/nouns/offer/create), [`Offer.publish`](/business/nouns/offer/publish) |
| "Connect my domain" | [`Domain.connect`](/business/nouns/domain/connect) |
| The claim link | [`Startup.claim`](/business/nouns/startup/claim) |
| "Launch it" | [`Startup.launch`](/business/nouns/startup/launch) |

Each call is in the [audit log](/systems/trust-and-governance/audit-log), with who asked, what ran and what it changed. To see what comes next, ask for a task from the [guides](/start/guides).

## How it works, in six chapters
Read these in order: they explain what your agent builds and what you can ask for. They take the parts one at a time, from the business and its [Products](/business/nouns/product) to the agents, the [Workflows](/business/nouns/workflow) and the [Systems](/business/nouns/system), then the code.

1. [Business-as-Code](/business/business-as-code): the seven parts a business is made of, and why one definition runs them all.
2. [How products work](/products/how-products-work): what you sell, the Offer that prices it, and what every product gets.
3. [The E-Myth model](/agents/e-myth): every seat written down, an agent in each, and the Approvals you keep.
4. [How a Workflow runs](/workflows/how-workflows-run): how work moves step by step, and what happens when a step fails.
5. [How to read a System page](/systems/how-to-read): the software every Startup inherits, and where each answer sits.
6. [Getting started](/code/getting-started): the same business built from code, for you or your developer.
