> Every Startup runs on its own Stripe connected account, opened for you, with no Stripe dashboard to learn; here is what Stripe holds and what you do.

Every [Startup](/business/nouns/startup) runs its money on its own Stripe connected account, which the platform opens and keeps in good standing. You never need a Stripe account of your own.

## What you do, once
Say "take payments" and the account opens with your first paid [Offer](/business/nouns/offer). The owner of record completes Stripe's identity check once; documents go to Stripe, never to the platform. After that, each new Stripe requirement arrives as a [Task](/business/nouns/task) with Stripe's deadline and a link to Stripe's form.

The Startup is the seller of record on every sale, and the platform covers the account's losses at Stripe. [Merchant account](/systems/finance/merchant-account) has the full contract.

## If you already use Stripe
Your existing Stripe account never becomes the Startup's account. Its past charges import read-only, so revenue history, [Customers](/business/nouns/customer) and [Subscriptions](/business/nouns/subscription) carry over without a second live record. New charges run on the Startup's own account from then on.

## No Stripe dashboard
Balances, payouts, refunds, [Cards](/business/nouns/card) and [Disputes](/business/nouns/dispute) are records in [db.sb](/code/platform/db-sb), written only from Stripe's webhooks. Ask your agent "what went out in payouts this week?" and it reads [`Transaction.list`](/business/nouns/transaction/list).

Stripe's own events arrive as [Events](/business/nouns/event), such as `Transaction.settled` and `Dispute.opened`, and can wake any [Workflow](/business/nouns/workflow).

The API, SDK and registry are camelCase. Stripe's snake_case names, such as `on_behalf_of`, appear only where a page explains Stripe's own rail.

## What Stripe holds
Each [Noun](/business/nouns/noun) Stripe holds, its Stripe object, and which side leads. [Finance](/systems/finance) maps each Stripe product to the [System](/business/nouns/system) that runs it.
