Fix a barrier
Fix a barrier gives the reporter an accessible alternative at once and fixes the Page, App or document within five business days.
Trigger
Runs on Thread.created where intake = 'barrier-reports'. Part of Barrier reports, run by the Product Team.
Steps
- Acknowledge the report and offer an accessible alternative the same day.
- Reproduce the barrier and record it as an Issue.
- Fix the barrier in a Change.
- Tell the reporter it is fixed and ask them to confirm.
Outputs
Example
A screen-reader user reports that the checkout button has no label. Within the hour they get a link to finish the order by email. The label ships in a Change two days later, and the user confirms it reads correctly.
