Sell an agent product
Where a customer meets the agent, how to price it, what it reports each month, and what a buyer's agent reads before it subscribes.
An Agent you sell works where your customer already works, at a price they can explain to their boss. Decide both before the first sale; the rest compiles.
Where the customer meets it
The agent answers on every channel its Offer includes, each with the same Role, Memory and Limits.
| Where | The customer | Built on |
|---|---|---|
Forwards work to renewals@riverside.leaseline.app | A Mailbox in its Tenant | |
| Chat | Talks to it in a widget on its own site, or in its team chat | Chat |
| Phone | Calls or texts its number | Phone |
| API and MCP | Hands it Tasks from its own code or agent, at api.leaseline.app | The Startup's API and MCP server |
| Portal | Reads every Action and answers each Approval | The customer Portal |
Start with the channel the work already arrives on. A renewals agent starts with email, because renewal notices are email.
How to price it
| Model | Price | Use it when |
|---|---|---|
| Per seat | $199 a month per Role it fills | It replaces part of someone's job |
| Per task | $2 per graded Task | Volume varies, and each Task stands alone |
| Per outcome | $40 per renewal signed | You can prove the result and you warrant it, which makes it a Service |
| Credits | $50 of prepaid work, drawn down | Agents or teams buy ahead |
A Task bills when the Evaluator passes it, never on the agent's own claim of done. Model costs sit inside your Price, and cost per action shows the margin on each one. Pricing models has the Offer file for each.
What it reports back
On the first of each month, every customer gets a report from its agent. It lists Tasks done and passed, Approvals asked for, time saved against the Role's baseline, and the cost. The same numbers sit live in the Portal.
A customer who reads "142 renewals sent, none late" renews without a sales call.
What a buyer's agent reads
A buyer's agent finds the product through its agent card, then works in three calls:
- It reads the Offer: price, unit, what counts as a graded Task, and the Limits.
- It asks in the
tryMode whether the agent can take its work. The answer is yes, yes with one missing piece, or no, and it costs nothing. - It accepts with
Offer.accept, paying inside its own Mandate. A charge above that Mandate waits as an Approval on the buyer's side.
Selling to agents has the full exchange, call by call.
What it says about itself
In its first message in each conversation, the agent says it is an AI agent and which business it acts for. AI disclosure sets the wording per market, and acceptable use bounds what a customer may point it at.
