Monthly budget
Monthly budget compares last month’s spend with each Budget, forecasts six months ahead, and asks the Founder to approve any Budget change.
Trigger
Runs on Period.closed. Part of Budget, run by the Finance Team.
Steps
- Record each Budget’s actual spend for the closed Period.
- Forecast cash and runway six months ahead at trailing rates.
- Propose next month’s Budgets and ask the Founder to approve any change.
- Send the Founder spend against Budget and the forecast.
Outputs
Example
The month’s Period closes on the 4th. The same day, the Finance Lead records $2,300 in ad spend against a $2,000 Budget. The forecast shows 14 months of runway, and the Founder approves one change.
