Send email as me

Connect your email and LinkedIn, let an Agent send as you, approve its first sends, and pause it at once.

An Agent drafts and sends as you once you connect your own accounts and grant it a Mandate. You stay the principal and author of record, see every send in your name, and can stop it at once.

Prerequisites

The examples follow the founder of tallyfox.com, which automates month-end close for bookkeeping firms at $199 a month. She delegates follow-ups with firms she has met.

Steps

Terminal8 steps
  1. To connect your email, run connect and sign in to your mail account in the browser it opens:

    npx startup-builder connect email
    Connected mailbox_4   maya@tallyfox.com   held by human_1 (you)

    Each account you connect becomes a Channel held by you. An email account is a Mailbox.

  2. To connect LinkedIn, run the same command for it:

    npx startup-builder connect linkedin
  3. To preview the grant, authorize the Mandate in the try Mode. Scope it by Channel, volume and topics, and set the approval rule for one-way sends:

    Terminal
    LIMIT=$(npx startup-builder do Limit.create --json '{"count":40,"period":"day"}' | jq -r '.limit["$id"] | split("/") | last')
    npx startup-builder do Mandate.authorize --try --json '{
      "agent": "agent_sales_lead",
      "for": "human_1",
      "verb": "Message.create",
      "channels": ["mailbox_4", "channel_5"],
      "limit": "'"$LIMIT"'",
      "topics": ["follow-ups with firms I met", "demo scheduling"],
      "approve": { "first": 20 },
      "window": "2h",
      "expiresAt": "2027-01-31"
    }'
    Text
    Would authorize agent_sales_lead to send as human_1
      Channels   mailbox_4 (email), channel_5 (LinkedIn)
      Volume     40 a day
      One-way first 20 sends wait for your Approval, then a 2-hour window
      Floor Delegated sending, Automation terms (LinkedIn)
  4. To grant it, run the same call without --try. The legal floor rows it names wake and apply to every send.

  5. To review the first sends, list your open Approvals and approve or refuse each draft:

    npx startup-builder show '/approvals?where=mandate = mandate_7'

    A send outside the topics or over the volume becomes an Approval too, whatever the count.

  6. To see everything sent in your name, read the Mandate's Actions:

    npx startup-builder show /mandates/mandate_7/actions --fields 'via,status,reason,by,for'
    via         status    reason           by                 formailbox_4   done                       agent_sales_lead   human_1channel_5   pending   awaitingAction   agent_sales_lead   human_1
  7. To stop every send at once, pause the Mandate. Pending sends hold until you resume:

    npx startup-builder do Mandate.pause --json '{"mandate":"mandate_7","reason":"Conference week; I reply myself."}'
  8. To end the Mandate, revoke it. New sends are refused, and the Channels stay connected for the next grant.

Result

The Sales Lead agent sends as you on two Channels, within 40 sends a day and two topics. Every Action records the agent as by, you as for, and the Mandate.

When the same agent writes from the Startup's own Mailbox, it sends as itself and says it is an agent. The delegated sending and automation terms rows govern sends in your name.
