Run a tryout pays a Candidate for real work from the Role’s backlog, graded blind against the incumbent Agent’s run of the same Tasks.

Steps
- Cut Tasks from the Role’s backlog, preferring those the Agent failed, escalated, or left waiting.
- Grant the Candidate a scoped Mandate that expires with the tryout. It waits 1 business hour first.
- Give the Candidate and the incumbent Agent the same Tasks.
- Grade both arms blind with the Role’s Evaluators.
- Write the per-Verb delta and a proposed split as Evidence on the Candidate.
- Pay the Candidate in full, whatever the grade. It waits 1 business hour first.

A Candidate for a content Role writes ten articles from the backlog while the incumbent Agent writes the same ten unseen. The Role's Evaluators grade all twenty blind: the Candidate wins on pieces built from practitioner quotes and ties on the rest.
