Marketplace payments
Marketplace payments settle each sale on the Supplier’s own connected Stripe account and keep the Marketplace’s take as an application fee.
The platform’s Stripe balance carries money only in transit, never past settlement.
Contract
| Clause | Terms |
|---|---|
| Charge | One destination charge per sale, made on behalf of the Supplier. Order.pay runs it, and Order.merchantOfRecord names the Supplier as seller of record. |
| Supplier’s share | Transfers to the Supplier’s connected account the moment Order.pay succeeds. |
| Take | The application fee carries the Startup’s take and the platform fee. The platform keeps its fee and transfers the take to the Startup’s own account the same day. |
| Holdback | A payout delay on the Supplier’s own account, never a platform hold. Human.hold sets it against an open Dispute or an Order inside Agreement.clearanceDays. |
| Release | Human.release frees the amount when the Dispute closes or the clearance period ends. |
| Payout | Human.remit pays the released balance on Agreement.payoutSchedule. |
| Refund | Order.refund reverses the Supplier’s transfer and the application fee in proportion to the amount returned. |
| Tax | The Startup collects as marketplace facilitator where the law names one, and the Supplier collects elsewhere. Order.tax records the amount either way. |
| Licensed acts | On a Licensed-human marketplace, the Credential holder is the Supplier and the seller of record. Order.pay charges on their behalf. |
| Losses | The platform covers a negative balance on any connected account, and Order.screen scores every charge first. |
On Stripe’s rail, a destination charge sets Stripe’s own on_behalf_of parameter to the Supplier’s account. Every name in the API, the SDK and the registry is camelCase; Stripe’s parameter names appear only where a page explains Stripe itself.

Example
A Marketplace of freelance translators takes 15% of each job. A buyer pays $200: $170 lands on the translator’s account at once, and the $30 take reaches the Startup that day, less the platform fee. The translator’s payout waits seven clearance days after the buyer confirms the job.
